In the most notable change, Hyundai has equipped the new IONIQ 5 with an 84.0 kWh battery pack, pushing the certified range to 690 km.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 Features

On the outside, Hyundai has not strayed far from the original design but has added sharper elements to refresh its appeal.

The SUV now gets redesigned front and rear bumpers, new skid plates, updated alloy wheels, and a revised rear spoiler. The signature parametric pixel lighting remains, but with a tweaked V-garnish design that adds a more high-tech touch.

The updated model features a new three-spoke leather steering wheel with an illuminated four-dot design. The centre fascia has been reworked, and the wireless charging pad now includes physical controls for seat heating and ventilation.

The dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrument cluster continue, maintaining the tech-heavy layout that defines the IONIQ 5’s cabin.

Hyundai has added a new Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system along with Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) updates, allowing software upgrades without visiting a service centre.

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now part of the package, reducing cable clutter. Other additions include Active Sound Design and an integrated payment system that lets users pay for EV charging directly through the infotainment screen.

A new remote immobilisation feature, accessible via Hyundai Bluelink, has also been introduced to improve theft protection.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 Colours and availability

The new IONIQ 5 will be available in four colour options — Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey, and Optic White — all paired with an Obsidian Black interior theme.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 safety features

The updated IONIQ 5 brings in additional safety features, including Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist for the rear and side parking distance warnings.

These additions are designed to make tight parking situations easier, especially in urban settings where space is often limited.

Commenting on the launch, Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said, “Having secured the prestigious World Car of the Year title along with multiple global accolades and being recognised as the Green Car of the Year at Indian Car of the Year Awards, the IONIQ 5 has set new benchmarks in design, technology and sustainability. With its strong global success and positive customer response across key markets, including India, the IONIQ 5 has played a pivotal role in shaping Hyundai’s electric mobility journey.”
