Skoda Auto has taken a significant step in its international expansion efforts by inaugurating a new production facility in Vietnam. The plant, opened in partnership with the Thanh Cong Group on March 26, will focus on assembling Škoda’s popular models, the Slavia sedan and Kushaq SUV, using completely knocked down (CKD) kits imported from India.

Located in Quang Ninh province, the state-of-the-art facility features advanced technology, including a welding shop, a paint shop, and a final assembly line. This strategic location near one of Vietnam’s most modern ports will help optimize the supply chain, facilitating efficient operations as the brand looks to strengthen its presence in the ASEAN market.

The Kushaq’s series production began shortly after the plant’s opening, and the Slavia will be produced this summer. Skoda’s commitment to the region is underscored by its plan to increase the number of sales outlets from 15 to 32 by 2025, capitalizing on Vietnam’s rapid market growth and its role as a gateway to the broader Indo-Pacific region.
