MG’s Next SUV Could Challenge Toyota Fortuner, Road Testing Starts In India

JSW MG Motor India is preparing to introduce the new to the Indian market. Positioned as a full-size premium offering, the Majestor is based on the MG Gloster but will be priced above it, targeting the higher end of the SUV segment. The vehicle made its initial public appearance at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year.

Recently, the Majestor was spotted completely undisguised, suggesting that its official launch is imminent in the coming months. In terms of exterior design, the Majestor features a refreshed and more imposing front fascia compared to the Gloster. The rear section also sports a redesigned appearance, enhancing its road presence and visual appeal.

Noteworthy exterior elements include robust skid plates, a blacked-out grille, vertically stacked headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, dual-tone alloy wheels, connected tail lamps, and dual exhaust outlets. These enhancements contribute to a bold and contemporary aesthetic.

Inside the cabin, the Majestor will offer an all-new dashboard layout featuring a large infotainment touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, a reconfigured HVAC panel with modern air vents, and a revised centre console. These updates are aimed at providing a more premium and tech-forward user experience.

Under the hood, the SUV will continue to be powered by the proven 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A 4×4 drivetrain will come as standard, reinforcing its off-road capabilities.
