New Suzuki Gixxer models expected in the second half of 2026

  • Late 2026 launch expected
  • Expect major overhauls, as seen in the Burgman Street

Close on the heels of the launch of the new Burgman Street, Suzuki is now working on launching a new generation of the Gixxer 150 and Gixxer 250 later this year. We can expect the bikes to be launched in the second half of 2026, possibly in the last couple of months.

The Suzuki Gixxer 150 and Gixxer 250 have been around for years, and they’ve only gotten minor updates, including meeting emission norms, over the course of their life. While these are pretty solid motorcycles, be it in terms of refinement, efficiency, or handling, their age is showing.

Also, in light of feature-packed competition like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 4V and even the Hero Xtreme 250R, the Gixxers should’ve been updated a long time ago.

We can hence expect Suzuki to bring a number of changes to the Gixxers. There’s word that we can see the introduction of a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation, grippier tyres, USD fork, brighter LED headlights, and more.

While there’s no confirmation yet, we may see some tweaks to the engines. That said, we hope the company retains the engine’s refinement while also focusing on extracting good fuel economy. We can also expect Suzuki to retain the light, flickable handling of the bikes.

All said, it’s about time Suzuki put their might in this segment and come up with a comprehensive overhaul for the Gixxers as they have done with the new Burgman Street.
