Ralson Tyres enters Indian heavy commercial vehicle tyre market

NEW DELHI: Ralson Tyres, a company known for its bicycle tyres, has announced its entry into the heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) tyre market in India.
This move marks the company’s expansion into the automotive sector, as it shifts focus from bicycle tyres to commercial vehicle tyres, said Manjul Pahwa, Managing Director of the company.
Ralson operates a manufacturing facility in Indore, which began production in 2023. The 60,000 MTPA-capacity plant, which has been serving international markets, will now focus on producing tyres for the growing Indian market, explained Pahwa.
“India’s commercial tyre sector is expected to grow at a rate of 10% annually, driven by factors such as increasing freight traffic and infrastructure development. The move is seen as part of the broader “Make in India” initiative, which aims to boost domestic manufacturing and reduce the country’s reliance on imports,” Pahwa said.
