Second-Generation Skoda Kodiaq Launched In India: Gets 201-HP Turbo-Petrol And 4X4 Capability

Skoda has launched the second-generation Kodiaq in India. The SUV will sit above the Kushaq, slotting in as the flagship product from the Czech automaker in our country. The new-gen Kodiaq has been introduced in two variants: Sportline and Selection L&K. These are priced at Rs 46.89 lakh and Rs 48.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are open starting today, and deliveries are expected to start from next month.

The new Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-charged petrol engine that generates 201 hp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic. Power goes to all four wheels through a full-time 4×4 system. The Kodiaq has an ARAI mileage of 14.86 km/l.

The interior upholstery changes with the trim option. You get an all-black theme with the Sportline and Cognac leather upholstery with the L&K trim. A 12.90-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 725W 13-speaker Canton sound system with a sub-woofer are available as standard.

The new Kodiaq is based on the MQB37 platform. It measures 4,758 mm in length, 1,679 mm in height, and 1,864 mm in width. It has a wheelbase of 2,791 mm. Its ground clearance stands at 155mm. Skoda says the Kodiaq offers a boot capacity of 281 litres with all three rows up and 786 litres with the third row down. With all second and third third-row down, the cargo capacity increased to 1,976 litres.
