Skoda And Volkswagen Recall 5 Popular Models In India Over Serious Safety Concerns

Auto India has announced a significant safety recall impacting five models in India. The affected Skoda vehicles include the Slavia, Kylaq, and Kushaq, while the Volkswagen models involved are the Taigun and Virtus. A total of 47,235 units are affected by this recall, which comprises 21,513 Volkswagen models and 25,722 Skoda models. The recall includes vehicles manufactured between May 24, 2025, and April 1, 2025.

The recall was initiated due to a faulty rear seat belt component. The companies stated that “in the unfortunate event of a frontal collision, the rear seatbelt buckle latch plate may break, and/or the webbing of the rear centre seatbelt assembly, along with the buckle of the rear right seatbelt, may fail. This poses a safety risk to passengers occupying the rear seats.”
