Tata Motors’ PV Exports Rise 28 PC In May 2025

In May 2025, , a homegrown automaker, experienced a 28% increase in passenger vehicle exports, with 483 units shipped overseas compared to 378 units in the same month the previous year. However, the company saw an 11% decline in domestic passenger vehicle sales, with 41,557 units sold last month, down from 46,697 units in May 2024.

Total electric vehicle sales (including both domestic and export markets) reached 5,685 units in May 2025, marking a 2% year-on-year increase from 5,558 units sold in the same month last year. Overall, including all types of passenger vehicles, total sales stood at 42,040 units, reflecting an 11% decrease compared to 47,075 units sold in May 2024.

In May 2025, Tata Motors sold a total of 28,147 commercial vehicles. This included 25,872 units sold in the domestic market and 2,275 units exported overseas. While exports saw a significant growth of 87% year-on-year, domestic sales of commercial vehicles declined by 9%. Overall, total commercial vehicle sales experienced a 5% decrease compared to the previous year.
