Tata Punch Crosses 500,000 Unit Production In India

Tata Motors announced through a recent social media post that its entry-level SUV, the Punch, has crossed the 500,000 production milestone in India. This includes the production numbers for petrol, CNG, and electric versions. This announcement comes on the heels of the recent news that Punch was the highest-selling car in India in 2024, snatching the top spot from Maruti Suzuki.

The petrol versions of the Tata Punch retail in India at a starting price of Rs 5.99 lakh and go up to Rs 9.71 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec trim. Prices for the Punch CNG start from Rs 7.29 lakh and go up to Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric version of the Punch retails between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Punch: Specifications

The Punch petrol and CNG versions are powered by a 1.2-litre engine. When running on petrol, it produces 86.5 hp and 115 Nm of peak torque. On CNG, power goes down to 72.49 hp and 103 Nm of peak torque.

The Punch.ev has two battery pack options: 25 and 35 kWh. The former offers a range of 190-210 km, while the latter offers 270-290 km on one charge. Variants equipped with the smaller battery pack produce 80 hp and 114 Nm of peak torque, while the one with the bigger back has a more powerful electric motor that produces 120 hp and 190 Nm of peak torque.
