This 261-HP Skoda To Help UK Police Catch Criminals

The UK Police will soon have a very fast toy with which to play. The MK4 now has a specialised Police Interceptor version, which will soon be reporting for duty. Made by partners approved by Skoda, the Octavia RS with the lights and sirens will be available as a specialised conversion package. Besides the Police Interceptor, there are conversion packages that could turn the hot Skoda into any emergency vehicle the UK authorities need.

Skoda has shared images of the sedan and the estate version of the Octavia RS with UK police liveries. Under the hood, the interceptor features the same engine that is available for the general public. It is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol that produces 261 hp and 370 Nm of peak torque. The engine pairs with a 7-speed DSG, allowing this fast sedan to reach 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. Watch out, criminals!

The cops in the UK aren’t the only ones getting this Skoda. The Octavia RS will soon make landfall on Indian shores. The sedan will be brought as a CBU, and its ex-showroom prices are expected to touch the Rs 40 lakh mark. Octavis RS’ platform sibling, the Gold GTI, is also set to arrive in India soon, along with the Tiguan R-Line.
