Ultraviolette Launches “Kill the Petrol Bill” Programme to Boost EV Adoption

Ultraviolette has introduced a new initiative aimed at making the shift from petrol-powered two-wheelers to electric motorcycles more attractive.

Under the programme, called “Kill the Petrol Bill,” customers upgrading to the Ultraviolette F77 or X-47 will be eligible for cashback benefits based on their riding history.

The company will offer incentives equivalent to the kilometres ridden on the customer’s previous petrol two-wheeler over the last two years. For instance, a rider with 20,000km of usage in that period can receive Rs. 20,000 as cashback. The company states that the overall benefits under the scheme can go up to Rs. 30,000, depending on usage.

In addition, Ultraviolette claims that riders switching to its electric motorcycles could save around Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000 per month on fuel expenses alone.

According to Ultraviolette Automotive, the initiative is designed to reduce the financial barrier for EV adoption while highlighting the long-term running cost-advantages of electric mobility. Ultraviolette has been expanding its EV portfolio with models such as the F77 and X-47, and is set to launch its first electric scooter, the Tesseract, in January 2027.
