Volkswagen’s New Entry-Level EV Arriving In 2027

Volkswagen will unveil its new entry-level EV concept on March 5, 2025. The production model will go on sale in Europe by 2027. No name has been shared yet, but it could be called the ID.1, following the current nomenclature of Volkswagen EVs. The new model will sit below the production version of the ID.2all concept and will be priced around 20,000 euros (approx. Rs 18 lakh).

Volkswagen’s teaser shows a compact car roughly the size of the UP sold in Europe. The vehicle has an upright stance, an illuminated Volkswagen logo, vertical DRLs, and what appears to be digital headlights. Like the ID.2all, it will likely use the automaker’s MEB platform.

Volkswagen New EV: Battery And Motor

Volkswagen hasn’t shared battery and motor specifications. However, considering the new EV will be a small car, it will feature a single-motor front-wheel-drive layout.

The new Volkswagen EV will first go on sale in Europe. No plans for India have been announced yet. The German automaker’s lineup in our country includes the Virtus, Tiguan, and Taigun.
