Yamaha XSR155 Launched in Malaysia

  • Gets a unique black paint scheme
  • Slightly more powerful than the India-spec XSR 155
  • Features block-pattern tyres

Yamaha has launched the XSR155 in Malaysia at RM12,998 (approximately Rs. 3.06 lakh). The brand is offering it in three colours: Classic Silver, Royal Black and Malar Green.

The Classic Silver and Malar Green are available in the India-spec XSR155, whereas the Royal Black is a new shade that hasn’t been launched here yet.

This colour scheme was first seen with the Japanese-spec Yamaha XSR155 that was launched recently. It features a red graphic on the tank with ‘Yamaha’ written in grey. There are also premium golden pinstripes on the tank and side panels that look quite elegant.

Apart from this black colour scheme, the bike remains mechanically unchanged. It features the same 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor as the India-spec bike, but produces slightly more power and torque.

The Malaysia-spec XSR155’s motor produces 18.6bhp and 14.4 Nm; for reference, the India-spec bike’s motor produces 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm.

The tyres on the Malaysia-spec XSR155 are also different and resemble the black-patterned units available with the Japanese-spec model. Aside from these differences, the rest of the cycle parts remain the same as the India-spec bike.
