Road-legal Ducati Desmo450 MX Enduro India Launch Confirmed

• Almost identical to the competition-spec motocross bike
• Slightly heavier than the MX and gets a larger fuel tank
• Price could be slightly higher than the MX

Ducati India has confirmed that it will bring the road-legal Enduro version of the Desmo450 MX to India. The announcement was made at the recent Indian press test event of the newly launched Desmo450 MX. We were a part of the event and our first impressions about the Italian brand’s first-ever motocross machine will go live on 23 March.

The enduro-focused version of Ducati’s new 450 platform, the Desmo450 EDX, builds on the motocross-based Desmo450 MX but introduces a few key changes to better suit cross-country and off-road riding conditions. One of the most notable updates is the switch to an 18-inch rear wheel, replacing the 19-inch unit seen on the MX. This setup, paired with Pirelli Scorpion XC Mid-Soft tyres.

The suspension hardware remains the same, featuring a fully adjustable 49mm Showa fork and rear shock, but both ends receive enduro-specific tuning. The fork uses softer springs and revised damping, while the rear shock also gets a new spring rate and updated settings, all of which are meant to be more suitable for enduro riding instead of extreme motocross action.

Another practical upgrade is the larger 8.52-litre fuel tank, up from the MX’s 7.1-litre unit. Moreover, the Desmo450 EDX is around 5kg heavier than the MX, largely due to the added components for making it street-legal and increased fuel capacity. Apart from these updates, the rest of the motorcycle remains unchanged, including the engine, chassis, brakes, and the electronics package.

The Ducati Desmo450 MX has recently been launched in India at Rs. 17.23 Lakh. Its Enduro version might turn out to be slightly more expensive when it makes its India debut later this year or early 2027.
