LIQUI MOLY has a New Set of Chain Care Tools

LIQUI MOLY has added a motorcycle chain brush and a chain protector spray to its chain maintenance products line. Since a drive chain works under constant load, faces dust, grime, mud, rainwater and what not on our road, it can wear out much earlier if it is not cleaned and lubricated properly. So these chain maintenance products are the first and only line of defence for riders enhancing the longevity of their drivelines.

The chain brush will require some physical effort to use always. It gets a three-sided chain jaw that wraps around the chain and cleans it from multiple sides in one pass. This should make the cleaning process faster than using only a cloth, especially when dealing with sticky oil deposits and road dirt. LIQUI MOLY says the brush is meant to be used when the rear wheel is lifted and rotated allowing the rider or technician to clean the chain more evenly. The longer bristles at the other end of the brush are meant for harder-to-reach areas such as the sprockets.

Chain protector spray supports the brush by making lubricant application more efficiently. The focussed spray helps apply the product quickly and precisely on the chain. Excess lubricant on tyres, rims or surrounding parts is not only messy but also unsafe, so be careful. Lubricant on a rear tyre can cause a slip and that overspray on the wheel and chain cover can collect more dust.

The brand says a chain may reach the end of its life in around 10,000km if ignored, while proper care can double that figure. But as always, claims to be taken with a pinch of salt. With regular cleaning and maintenance the chain can even last 30,000km or more, depending on use and conditions. India availability not out yet, but since the brand has significant presence here should be a matter of time you find it in aftermarket.
