Ather EL01-based Electric Scooter Teased Ahead of India Launch

Ather Energy has teased its upcoming EL-platform-based electric scooter by releasing an image of the model being assembled at its manufacturing facility. The teaser offers the clearest look yet at the production-spec scooter, which is set to make its India debut on 29 August at the Ather Community Day 2026.

The image reveals a design that stays largely identical to the Ather EL01 concept showcased at Ather Community Day last year. The scooter retains its clean, minimalist styling with a contemporary silhouette, although a few production-ready elements have replaced the concept-specific details.

While Ather has remained tight-lipped about the scooter’s specifications, previously spotted test mules have revealed some of its hardware. The upcoming model is expected to ride on a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear alloy wheel combination, with braking duties handled by a front disc and rear drum brake setup. The production version is also expected to feature a seven-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and connected features.

The new scooter will be underpinned by Ather’s all-new EL platform, a scalable architecture that will support multiple body styles in the future. The platform has been designed to accommodate battery packs ranging from 2kWh to 5kWh, allowing Ather to cater to a wider range of customer requirements across different price points.

With the EL platform, Ather aims to strengthen its presence in the mass-market electric two-wheeler segment. The upcoming EL-based scooter is expected to be Ather’s most affordable offering yet, with an estimated price of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
