Ather Electric Motorcycle Concept Likely to be Showcased Next Year

• Ather announced Zenith motorcycle platform in 2024
• Concept bike could be showcased in 2027
• Main focus is on EL platform-based scooters for now

Ather Energy had announced that it was working on a new electric motorcycle platform called Zenith back in 2024. It’s been almost two years now, and there hasn’t been any further release of information on that. The company is all set to host its biggest media and public event on 29 August, 2026, and a concept model based on the Zenith platform was expected to be showcased on that day. However, we have learnt now that the company intends to currently focus on its new EL01 scooter platform, and we might see an electric bike concept from Ather next year.

As per the announcement made in 2024, the electric motorcycles based on the Zenith platform will target the 125-300cc segment. What this essentially means is that there could be multiple electric bikes in the pipeline with motor performance, including acceleration and top speed, similar to bikes falling in that displacement ballpark. And that’s all we know about the platform so far. In all likelihood, it will be a feature-packed, performance-focused bike, following the footsteps of the 450X, Ather’s hero product that has been mainly responsible for putting the brand on the map.

Now, how soon after the concept unveil will Ather launch the production-spec motorcycle completely depends on the market demand. As of now, the electric scooter market is much bigger than motorcycles, and that’s why Ather has been moving forward with the bike project at a relaxed pace. The brand has a strong presence in the premium scooter space, those priced above Rs. 1.50 lakh, to be precise. However, there’s a major scope for Ather to strengthen its footprint on the affordable side of the spectrum. And that’s where scooters based on the new EL platform will come into the picture, and the first product is expected to be priced between Rs. 1-1.25 lakh.
