Bajaj Auto to Upgrade its 125-160cc range in India Soon

Bajaj Auto has announced plans to update its 125-160cc motorcycle portfolio as it looks to strengthen its presence in one of the largest and most competitive two-wheeler segments in India. The announcement comes on the back of the company’s record-breaking performance in the first quarter of FY27.

While Bajaj has not revealed which motorcycles will receive the updates or provided a launch timeline, its current 125-160cc lineup comprises multiple models under the Pulsar and Freedom brands.

In its Q1 FY2027 earnings statement, Bajaj said product interventions across the Pulsar range helped it gain market share in the sports motorcycle category. The company added that the segment grew by nearly 50 per cent during the quarter, underlining the strong demand for its motorcycles.

The announcement also aligns with Bajaj’s previously stated strategy of sharpening its focus on the domestic 125cc-plus motorcycle market. Among the products expected to arrive in the coming months is the next-generation Pulsar, which has been spotted testing on multiple occasions.

Besides the product updates, Bajaj also posted its strongest-ever quarterly financial performance. The company reported revenue of Rs. 17,244 crore, up 37 per cent year-on-year, while profit after tax increased 42 per cent to Rs. 2,983 crore.

Bajaj also achieved sales of 1.44 million units during the quarter, marking a year-on-year growth of 29 per cent. Meanwhile, domestic two-wheeler sales rose by 11 per cent, while exports surged 52 per cent in Q1 FY2027.
