BMW F 450 GS Gets SW-MOTECH Accessories

• Luggage options range from compact 8-litre bags to 65-litre tail bags
• Protection includes crash bars, an engine guard and axle sliders
• Indian availability is expected through aftermarket suppliers

BMW F 450 GS now has a wide range of luggage, protection and ergonomic accessories from SW-MOTECH. Riders can choose between tank bags, soft side luggage, top cases and tail bags depending on the length of the journey and the amount of equipment they need to carry.

At the front, SW-MOTECH offers a PRO tank ring that accepts several bags from its PRO range. The selection stretches from the compact PRO Edge to the larger PRO GS offering up to 20 litres of carrying capacity. The ring uses a quick-lock arrangement allowing the bag to be attached without relying on straps running around the fuel tank.

The side-luggage system is centred around SW-MOTECH’s V-LOC carrier. It can be used with soft bags from the Legend Gear and WP families. A magnetic guide helps position and secure the bags in one action making removal easier when the rider reaches a hotel or campsite.

SW-MOTECH offers two versions of the V-LOC carrier for the F 450 GS. One is designed for motorcycles equipped with BMW’s original rear carrier, while the other works with bikes that do not have that factory-fitted rack.

Owners who have the original BMW rack can also install the larger ADVENTURE-RACK. It supports the DUSC XL top case with 55 litres of storage. That is sufficient for longer journeys, although placing a fully loaded 55-litre box high and behind the rear axle will affect the motorcycle’s weight distribution.

SW-MOTECH has also developed a STREET-RACK specifically for the F 450 GS. This smaller rear carrier can hold different bags from the PRO and Drybag ranges. Riders can select the 8- to 14-litre PRO Roadpack for shorter trips or move up to the 65-litre PRO Travelbag when substantially more storage is required.

Beyond luggage, there are front axle sliders and a slider for the left side of the rear axle. These components are intended to reduce damage to the fork and rear suspension area during a low-speed fall or slide. An engine guard is available in black powder-coated and brushed silver finishes. SW-MOTECH also offers a black tubular-steel crash bar and a radiator guard carrying the company’s bull logo.

The catalogue also includes parts intended to improve comfort and control. Mirror extensions move the mirrors further outwards to give the rider a clearer view past their shoulders. SW-MOTECH’s EVO footrests offer multiple position adjustments and are designed for both road and off-road use. A machined extension for the rear brake pedal is also available.

Aftermarket suppliers in India are expected to offer these products to local F 450 GS owners.
