CFMoto XO Papio Racer 125 is Tiny and Terrific

  • 126cc single-cylinder engine
  • 114kg riding on 12-inch wheels

Even in the Australian market, the updated MY26 version of the CFMoto XO Papio Racer is being offered in limited numbers. It is a very small motorcycle dressed like an old racing machine making it so damn appealing. This little minimoto gets clip-on handlebars, low windscreen, sculpted fuel tank and compact racing-style bodywork. Its twin circular headlights give it a serious and playful look.

That racy design draws inspiration from racing motorcycles of the 1980s. You can see those signs in its rounded surfaces, small front fairing and neatly raised tail. This MY26 motorcycle develops its personality further with full side fairings. Panels now wrap around more of the engine and include small winglet-inspired sections giving the Papio a fuller silhouette while retaining its intentionally compact appearance. The handlebars have also been raised by 48mm and the footpegs moved 114mm forward creating a more upright riding position than before.

Its 760mm seat height should make it approachable to generally everybody, and the 114kg weight should further make handling super easy. Ahem, it does have a 120/70 R12 front tyre and a wider 130/70 R12 rear tyre. The savage power output of 9.3bhp and 9.3Nm comes from a 126cc single-cylinder engine which is paired with a six-speed gearbox and uses electronic fuel injection.

Equipment includes full LED lighting and a three-inch circular display. The instrument unit combines a traditional round shape with a monochrome digital screen fitting the retro theme better. The MY26 version also receives a glass display lens and an actual dedicated traction-control status light. Its seven-litre fuel tank is also generous for a motorcycle this small, giving it a claimed potential range of up to 350km.

The XO Papio Racer is highly unlikely to come to India, because let’s be honest, you’re not going to buy it. But for all the little riders out there, this is what dreams are made of.
