Ducati Monster launched in India- Top highlights

The new Ducati Monster went on sale in India a few days ago. The street naked bike features a new engine among other changes. Here is a quick look at the top highlights of the bike.

New 890cc V2 engine

The biggest update is the new 890cc V2 engine with Intake Variable Timing (IVT). It produces 111bhp at 9,000rpm and 91.1Nm at 7,250rpm. Ducati claims the engine is 5.9kg lighter than the previous Testastretta Evoluzione and offers a valve-clearance inspection interval of 45,000km.

Lighter chassis

The new Monster uses a monocoque frame with the engine as a stressed member, along with a double-sided swingarm and a new rear subframe. Its kerb weight without fuel stands at 175kg, making it 4kg lighter than the previous model. Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm Showa USD fork and a Showa monoshock.

Updated design and lower seat

The fifth-generation Monster gets a sleeker version of Ducati’s signature muscular styling. It still manages to look purposeful with its beefy fuel tank and minimal tail section.

The new Monster is also more accessible with a narrower seat that is now 5mm lower, at 815mm. The handlebars have also been moved upwards and forwards to offer a more sporty yet comfortable riding position.

Extensive electronics package

The Monster comes with a six-axis IMU-based electronics package. It gets cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0. There are also four riding modes – Sport, Road, Urban and Wet – along with a five-inch TFT display.

Prices start at Rs 13.99 lakh

The 2026 Ducati Monster is available in India in two versions – Monster and Monster+. Prices for the standard Monster start at Rs 13.99 lakh for the Ducati Red colour, while the Iceberg White and Sport Livery versions cost Rs 14.23 lakh. The Monster+ starts at Rs 14.34 lakh and gets a headlight cowl and passenger seat cover as standard.
