Eurogrip Unveils Trailhound STR Tyres for Adventure Tourers

• Four sizes for popular adventure motorcycles
• Uses a 90/10 tread pattern for road and light off-road use
• Prices and market availability yet to be announced

Eurogrip has just released the new Trailhound STR as the company’s new adventure-touring tyre range. Developed for medium and large adventure motorcycles, this tyre is intended mainly for highway riding while retaining enough ability for occasional use on gravel and light trails. Eurogrip has not announced its prices yet.

Following a 90/10 design approach, its treads are developed for paved roads with a smaller part of its ability reserved for unsealed broken surfaces. This tyre will suit riders who ride mostly on tarmac roads, but occasionally encounter gravel, broken sections or simpler trails during their tours. The optimised tread pattern has been designed to improve water evacuation and deliver traction across varied surfaces.

Trailhound STR will be available in four sizes across 90/90-21 54V front, a 110/80 R19 59V front, a 150/70 R18 70V rear and a 150/70 R17 69V rear. This covers the 21-inch, 19-inch, 18-inch and 17-inch wheel combinations used by most adventure touring motorcycles.

Eurogrip first presented the Trailhound STR as part of its international premium portfolio. Its Indian introduction is therefore also an effort to bring a globally positioned product into the company’s home market.

However, pricing will be crucial here. We’ll need to know whether the Trailhound STR offers a meaningful cost advantage over established international alternatives before its market position becomes clear.
