British marque Norton, owned by TVS, is preparing to enter the Indian market in the coming months. The brand's first offering for domestic buyers, which also serves as its initial global product, is the Manx R sportbike. Following recent track and street test sessions in Spain, the manufacturer has showcased the visual highlights of the machine.
Design and Build Quality
Unlike typical superbikes that can prove cumbersome during everyday commuting, the Norton Manx R has been engineered to provide a user-friendly street experience alongside track capability. Its styling adopts a minimalist and refined approach, steering clear of the aggressive angles, winglets, and loud decal schemes found on contemporary sportbikes. Overall craftsmanship feels high-end, featuring a deep paint lustre, robust switchgear, and meticulous attention to detail across every component.

Engine Performance and Specifications
Propulsion is supplied by a fresh 72-degree, 1,200cc, V4 motor that churns out 206bhp alongside 130Nm of torque, marking the peak torque figure in its category. Engineers have prioritized strong mid-range delivery while maintaining high-end output. On the track, the motorcycle demonstrated stability during heavy deceleration, flicked into corners effortlessly, and provided strong mechanical grip and feedback, complemented by Pirelli Supercorsa V4 SP tyres.
Chassis and Hardware
The motorcycle relies on premium hardware components to handle various riding environments. It utilizes a Marzocchi semi-active suspension system that adjusts its behavior according to selected ride modes, effectively smoothing out road imperfections in Road and Rain settings. Additional equipment comprises a Marzocchi steering damper, Brembo Hypure brakes, complex electronics, and Rotobox Bullet Pro carbon-fibre wheels reserved for the Signature trim.
Ergonomics and Verdict
The riding stance leans toward the sporty side while remaining reasonably relaxed, reducing load on the rider's wrists and offering adequate seat support for extended journeys, though taller operators might desire additional room. On winding paths, the machine handles with agility, accuracy, and reassurance. While lacking the extreme top-end fury of certain competitors, the Manx R distinguishes itself through accessible power delivery, comfortable seating posture, and distinctive styling.
