Stellantis India and Tata Motors have officially entered into a definitive agreement that broadens their existing collaboration into advanced product and technology development. This move follows an earlier Memorandum of Understanding executed in February 2026.
Agreement Scope and Manufacturing
Through the pact, Tata Motors is set to grant Stellantis access to its sophisticated vehicle architecture and advanced product technology. Stellantis will utilize its own engineering and product development expertise in India to build upon these platforms, catering to the demands of more than 50 international markets. Production of the vehicles created under this arrangement will take place locally at the Ranjangaon facility.

The definitive contract formalizes the initial intentions discussed during the February 2026 MoU, which aimed to investigate cooperative opportunities in engineering, manufacturing, and supply chains both within India and abroad.
