Next-gen Bajaj Pulsar Launch Details Revealed

  • Expected to be launched by late July or early August
  • Likely to be the new-gen Pulsar 125 or 150

The next-generation Bajaj Pulsar was recently spotted testing on the outskirts of Pune. While details regarding its engine displacement and final nomenclature remain under wraps, we have learned that the new Pulsar will likely be launched in India by late July or early August.

Judging by the spy pictures and the fact that the classic Pulsar has not received a major update in several years, this new model could be the next-generation Pulsar 125 or Pulsar 150. The test mule’s bulbous proportions and overall stance are also reminiscent of the original Pulsar’s iconic silhouette, further hinting at its identity.

The test prototype was seen with a muscular fuel tank, a sizeable bikini fairing, and a slender tail section, a signature trait of the original Pulsar’s design. Underneath, the motorcycle appears to be built around a single downtube tubular frame and is suspended by telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a front disc brake and a rear drum brake setup.

While it is still too early to comment on the engine specifications, we expect Bajaj to offer significant updates to the engine to improve its refinement, performance, and overall rideability. Additionally, with the animosity towards ethanol-blended fuels in India, it would make sense for the new engine to be compatible with higher ethanol blends, ensuring greater long-term relevance and compliance with future fuel norms.

Considering the comprehensive upgrades expected on the next-generation Pulsar, we expect Bajaj to price it marginally higher than its respective current-generation counterpart.
