TATA.ev Announces Major Expansion Of EV Charging Network in India

TATA.ev has announced a significant expansion of its electric vehicle charging infrastructure, with plans to more than double the number of charging points to 400,000 by 2027. This initiative builds on the company’s achievement of surpassing 200,000 EV sales and is part of its strategy to enhance the accessibility and convenience of electric mobility.

To drive this growth, TATA.ev is advancing its ‘Open Collaboration’ framework, which was initially introduced in 2023. This initiative focuses on partnerships with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to strengthen the charging network, particularly along highways, in support of long-distance travel.

Under ‘Open Collaboration 2.0,’ TATA.ev is accelerating its efforts by planning the installation of 400,000 new public charging points in the next two years. A key aspect of this initiative is the launch of the ‘TATA.ev Mega Charger’ network, which aims to provide high-speed and reliable charging infrastructure.

The first phase of the project will involve deploying 500 Mega Chargers across key cities and highways within two years. While these chargers will be available for all EV users, TATA.ev customers will receive priority access and tariff benefits.
