VIDA VX2 Go FB: Top 5 highlights

VIDA has expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of the new VX2 Go FB. The FB stands for fixed battery and this is the first time that the scooter has been offered with a non-removable battery. Priced at Rs 1.13 lakh, ex-showroom, here are its top highlights

Fixed 3.1kWh battery

The VIDA VX2 Go FB gets a 3.1kWh fixed battery pack, unlike the removable-battery variants in the VX2 range. It has an IDC-certified range of 128km on a full charge. The fixed battery, while doing away with the anywhere charging convenience of removable batteries, should appeal to those who don’t want to carry a heavy battery and have access to a fixed charger in their parking spot.

70km/h top speed

The VIDA VX2 FB is powered by a 6kW electric motor that is mounted on the swing-arm. It enables the VX2 Go FB to achieve a claimed top speed of 70km/h. That’s enough grunt to keep up with everyday urban traffic.

Fast charging and range

The VX2 Go FB supports DC fast charging and can charge from zero to 80 per cent in 65 minutes. The fixed battery also allows owners to plug the scooter directly into a standard wall socket.

Speaking of range, the battery gives the VX2 Go FB an IDC-certified range of 128km on a full charge. This makes it the second-largest battery option in the VX2 Go range in terms of capacity, sitting above the 2.2kWh version and below the 3.4kWh and 4.4kWh options.

Practical features

VIDA VX2 Left Rear Three Quarter

The VX2 Go FB comes with a long seat and 27.2 litres of under-seat storage. This should be enough to carry everyday items like an office bag, tiffin and other small items. It also gets a 4.3-inch LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity. The display supports turn-by-turn navigation.

Expands the VIDA VX2 range

The VX2 Go FB joins the existing VX2 lineup, which includes variants with battery capacities ranging from 2.2kWh to 4.4kWh. VIDA also claims to have more than 5,900 fast-charging stations and over 700 service touchpoints across India. The new variant is scheduled to reach authorised dealerships across India from early August.
