Yamaha R15 & MT 15 MotoGP Edition Launched

• Yamaha brings back MotoGP edition of R15 and MT 15
• Same decals as the bikes sold previously

Yamaha has brought back the Monster Energy MotoGP Edition of the R15 V4 and MT-15 in India. The motorcycles have been priced at Rs. 1,76,050 and Rs. 1,77,230, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom). The company says it decided to bring this edition back mainly due to high demand from customers.

MotoGP edition of both bikes looks identical to the ones that were sold until a few months back. They proudly showcases Yamaha’s signature MotoGP-inspired livery across the tank shrouds, fuel tank and side panels, clearly giving away the racing inspiration. Featuring distinctive race-bred graphics and premium styling elements, these special editions clearly stand out while not being visually excessively bold or in your face.

Mechanically, the R15 and MT 15 remain unaltered. Both bikes are powered by identical 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation. While power and torque output numbers are also the same at 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm, there’s a slight difference in the way the power is delivered courtesy of a distinction in sprocketing. Both bikes get a TFT dash with smartphone connectivity, dual-channel ABS, and a USB charging port. Making the R15 slightly better is the presence of traction control and quick shifter (in higher variants).
