SQ 350 can be a Cool Addition to QJMotor’s India Portfolio

  • Liquid-cooled 330cc engine producing 29bhp
  • Comes with Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and a dash camera
  • Features 16-inch wheels

QJMotor SQ 350 is a middleweight scooter with a high-wheel layout, a flat floorboard and enough performance for city roads and highways. It also gets safety and convenience equipment as optional extras adding to its great value proposition. If QJMotor plans to release it in our market, it’ll also get the below-350cc GST 2.0 benefit.

SQ 350’s 330cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine has a Bosch fuel injection and it produces 29bhp and 33.5Nm. These numbers place it in the urban scooters segment without pushing it into the size territory of larger maxi-scooters. QJMotor claims a WMTC fuel consumption figure of 27kmpl.

The scooter uses 16-inch wheels at both ends which will deal with broken road surfaces and small potholes more calmly. They should also provide a steadier feel at higher speeds, although the larger rear wheel can reduce the amount of storage available beneath the seat. QJMotor says the underseat compartment can accommodate two small helmets, but a top box is also included as standard to work around that issue.

The nearly flat floorboard should provide more room for the rider’s feet and make it easier to carry a small bag between the legs. The 10-litre fuel tank has a high-mounted filling point so the rider does not need to raise the seat while refuelling.

The seat height stands at 790mm making the scooter sort of manageable for riders of different heights. Stepped seat provides separate areas for the rider and pillion, while the tall windscreen and transparent handguards are fitted as standard. Telescopic front fork offers 110mm of travel and twin rear shock absorbers come with preload adjustment. Brakes sound like a great package. It consists of a 256mm front disc with a two-piston Nissin calliper and a 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS as standard fit. And it is all backed by the surefootedness of a traction control system.

There is also a tyre-pressure monitoring displaying both tyre pressure and temperature. Its five-inch colour TFT touchscreen displays speed, engine revs, fuel level, coolant temperature, outside temperature and information from the electronic safety systems.

One of the SQ 350’s more unusual features is its factory-fitted front DVR camera. The camera is built discreetly into the front section and can record journeys.
