VinFast Viper e-Scooter Design patented in India

Vietnamese EV maker VinFast has filed a design patent for the Viper electric scooter in India. The latest filing suggests that Vinfast may include the Viper e-Scooter as part of its product pipeline for the Indian market.

The patented scooter is largely identical to the Viper sold in Vietnam, but features a few design updates. It features a sharp, sporty bodywork, a single-piece LED headlamp, a stepped seat, split grab rails, five-spoke alloy wheels, and a floorboard-based scooter layout.

Internationally, the VinFast Viper is powered by a 3kW hub-mounted electric motor paired with a 4.8kWh battery pack. The scooter is claimed to deliver a riding range of up to 156km on a single charge and rides on 14-inch alloy wheels, positioning it as one of the brand’s premium electric scooters.

VinFast had earlier confirmed that it plans to enter the Indian electric two-wheeler market with multiple scooters in the second half of 2026. These are expected to be locally assembled at its upcoming manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. While the company is yet to confirm launch timelines for the Viper, the design patent is a strong indication that the scooter is being evaluated for the Indian market.
